Blue quartz or blue aventurine is a silica mineral and a member of the quartz family. The color comes from smaller inclusions of dispersed dumortierite and is usually found crystallized as large masses. Most of the material on the market comes from mines throughout Brazil, although Russia and India also have large deposits.
